This two-part in-person course is suitable for anyone with an interest in wildlife and natural habitats. We will share and increase our knowledge of local wildlife and plants, with opportunities to spot and identify native animals, trees and plants. We will explore ways in which people relate to the natural world and look at research that shows the positive impacts of increased interaction and awareness of nature on our wellbeing and mental health. Students will examine case studies exploring simple and practical ways of increasing opportunities to connect with natural environments using the resources they have available to them.

It is suitable for those who have an interest in gardening or simply enjoy natural environments. It may also be of interest to people who would like to help the people they care for to make the most of their interest in nature.

The course will include outdoor activities, so students are encouraged to please dress appropriately for the weather
